Andrew Ioannou commenced private and classroom teaching in 1988 and successfully founded a music school specialising in teaching instrumental music in schools. Andrew’s vision and passion has seen Metro Music School become a fast growing organisation that inspires and educates, with many major schools currently involved across Victoria.
At Metro Music School, we have a quality staff of music instructors offering lessons in all styles of guitar, bass, drums, piano, saxophone, clarinet, flute and violin to name a few, as well as singing lessons.
It is our belief, that the learning of a music instrument greatly enhances a child’s social and intellectual development – building self esteem, self confidence, self expression, co-ordination, goal setting and teamwork – and a deep love of good music!

The integral goal of Metro Music School’s program is to promote and encourage musicianship and provide students with the opportunity to learn an instrument, participate in ensembles and perform in a variety of settings on a regular basis.
The program also aims to encourage students to cultivate a joy in learning music, and to have a life long social leisure skill.
We offer an integrated progressive curriculum for children aged 5 to 12. We aim to create and nurture the development of children’s musical abilities to their highest levels. Music Theory, reading music and a practical approach to learning a chosen musical instrument are our priorities. Our teachers are specifically selected for their advanced musical, communication and teaching skills. They have undertaken intensive training programs with us and their work is regularly monitored.
